In early 2026, the IEEE ComSoc Indonesia Chapter held a Member Gathering attended by officers and members. The event took place onsite at the Aston Purwokerto Hotel and online via Zoom meeting. The gathering began pleasantly with lunch and small talk to encourage collaboration.
The event was opened by the MC, Miss Laily Ade Oktaviana. This was followed by a greeting and presentation of activities that had been carried out as well as achievements from the previous year by Dr. Muhammad Ary Murti as ComSoc chair and each coordinator of the respective sections. Then the event was handed over to Dr. Alfin Hikmaturokhman as ComSoc chair for 2026. The agenda included:
1. Introduction and Aspirations
All participants introduced themselves and shared their motivation for joining the IEEE ComSoc Indonesia Chapter.
2. Report on 2025 Activities
In 2025, the activities that were successfully carried out included 4 conferences held in a hybrid format, which were: IAICT, APWiMob, IoTaIS, and ComNetSat. A total of 14 Technical Activities were also successfully held at various universities in Indonesia, including Telkom University, ARS University, Udayana University, ITB, UI, UII, POLTERA, and UNSOED. In addition, other online activities such as Webinar Series with Selected Topics in Telecommunication successfully drew enthusiasm from various academic communities.
Several internal meetings among the officers, as well as preparatory meetings for the conference, were held to ensure the event’s success.
IEEE ComSoc Indonesia Chapter also shows support through humanitarian program to help people who affected by disaster in Padang, Indonesia. This humanitarian program was carried out by providing cooking appliances to the affected community.
3. Call for Speakers and Hosts
Following the report on activities that had been carried out, a discussion was initiated regarding the Lecturer Series Program and future collaborative activities. Participants actively contributed their ideas and sharing suggestions for interesting topics for future discussions. Stay tuned for the next event!
