The IEEE ComSoc Indonesia Chapter successfully held its 2025 Webinar Series second session “Selected Topics in Telecommunication” on November 8, 2025. This session highlighted the topics of Spectrum Frequency Observation, Radio Network Montoring, and Opportunities for Developing Segment Routing Traffic Engineering, presented by professional speakers in their respective fields.
Ir. Firdaus, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., opened the webinar with a warm greeting and words of appreciation to all participants. He also emphasized the aim of the event, which was to explore advancements in technology under the initiative of the IEEE ComSoc Indonesia Chapter.
The first speaker, Eka Kusumawardhani, S.T., M.T. from Universitas Tanjungpura, who is also an IEEE ComSoc Indonesia Chapter Officer, opened the event with the topic “SDR in Spectrum Frequency Observation and Radio Network Monitoring”. The topic she presented opened up new knowledge about Software Defined Radio (SDR), which plays an important role in frequency spectrum observation with its ability to detect, analyze, and monitor the spectrum in real time to avoid interference, improve communication quality, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Ir. Lukman Medriavin Silalahi, A.Md., S.T., M.T. from President University and fellow IEEE ComSoc Chapter Officer, continued as the second speaker with the topic “Peluang Pengembangan Segment Routing Traffic Engineering pada Infrastruktur Jaringan yang Tangguh dan Fleksibel”. This topic briefly discusses the development of routing segments in traffic engineering to address rapid data traffic growth, focusing on technical solutions to make networks more resilient, efficient, and capable of automatically managing data congestion while complying with regulations and maintaining data security.
Hosted virtually via Zoom, participants were able to explore innovations in the field of telecommunications in greater depth.
