The IEEE Communication Society (ComSoc) Indonesia Chapter, in collaboration with the Department of Electrical Engineering at Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) and the IEEE Student Branch UII, successfully organized a public lecture titled “Introduction to 6G: Machine Learning and Quantum Technology” on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Held at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI) UII, the event was warmly attended by over 200 participants from 12 universities across Yogyakarta, creating a vibrant and intellectually charged atmosphere. ,The auditorium was filled with enthusiastic students, academics, and professionals eager to explore the frontiers of next-generation wireless technology.
The keynote speaker, Dr.Eng Khoirul Anwar, Director of The University Center of Excellence for Advanced Intelligent Communications (AICOMs), Telkom University, Indonesia delivered an inspiring and forward-looking presentation. He introduced the fundamental concepts of 6G, a network paradigm set to redefine global connectivity, and discussed how machine learning and quantum technology will play pivotal roles in shaping a smarter, faster, and more adaptive digital communication landscape.
One of the most engaging parts of the event was the interactive Q&A session. Participants raised thoughtful and challenging questions, ranging from the practical implementation of quantum communication in mobile networks to the ethical considerations of AI integration in future wireless systems. Dr. Khoirul responded with clarity and depth, often drawing on real-world examples and recent research developments. The dynamic exchange not only showcased the audience’s keen interest but also enriched the overall learning experience, making the session highly memorable.
