IEEE ComSoc Indonesia Chapter Webinar Series “Selected Topics in Telecommunication”: Session 1
The IEEE ComSoc Indonesia Chapter successfully opened its 2025 Webinar Series “Selected Topics in Telecommunication” with its first session on October 18, 2025. This session highlighted the topics of Artificial Intelligence and Wireless Energy Transfer, presented by professional speakers in their respective fields. Dr. Alfin Hikmaturokhman, S.T., M.T., SMIEEE, opened the webinar with a warm greeting and words of appreciation to all participants. He also emphasized the aim of the event, which was to explore advancements in technology under the initiative of the IEEE ComSoc Indonesia Chapter.

Dr. Ir. Anna Christina, S.T., M.T., IPU, ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng. from Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital (KOMDIGI), who is also an IEEE ComSoc Indonesia Chapter Officer, opened the event as the first speaker with the topic “Artificial Intelligence: Indonesia Roadmap, Challenges & Opportunities.” In her presentation, she focused on the development and implementation of the AI Roadmap in Indonesia, which is a follow-up to the Strategi Nasional KA 2020-2045 (Starnas KA). On this occasion, the connection between AI and the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision and the Indonesia Digital 2045 vision was also highlighted, where AI development must be ethical, collaborative, and sovereign.

The second speaker was Arif Abdul Aziz, Ph.D. from Telkom University and fellow IEEE ComSoc Indonesia Chapter Officer, continued with the topic “The Long-Range RF Wireless Energy Transfer: Implementation, Challenges, and Opportunities”. He presented research on wireless power transfer using radio frequency (RF) technology, with a focus on IoT device applications. The research shows promise for wirelessly charging IoT devices without batteries, although efficiency remains a challenge.
Hosted virtually via Zoom, participants were able to explore innovations in the field of telecommunications in greater depth.
