The IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) Indonesia Chapter, in collaboration with the Jurusan Teknik Elektro (JTE) at Politeknik Negeri Madura (Poltera) and PT Mitsol Teknik Indonesia, successfully held a guest lecture on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the Meeting Room in Building B of Poltera. The event was attended by faculty members and students from various cohorts, demonstrating high enthusiasm in efforts to strengthen vocational education aligned with current industry needs.
The session featured a guest lecture on the theme “Industry 4.0 & Automation Systems for Future Challenges.” The invited speakers, Dr. Eng. Faisal Budiman, S.T., M.Sc., Director of the Directorate of Research and Community Service at Telkom University and an active member of the IEEE ComSoc Indonesia Chapter, and Bambang Budi Rahsohadi, Director of PT Mitsol Teknik Indonesia, delivered comprehensive and relevant material to bridge the academic and industrial worlds.
In his presentation, Dr. Faisal emphasized the importance of developing a vocational curriculum that is adaptive to technological developments, particularly in the fields of automation and applied research. He also highlighted the need for collaboration between universities, professional associations, and industry to ensure that graduates have the competencies to meet the technological challenges of the future.
Bambang Budi Rahsohadi also discussed the industry’s need for mastery of automation and SCADA systems, as well as the importance of communication and problem-solving skills for graduates. He emphasized that a combination of technical competence and strong soft skills will improve students’ readiness to enter the competitive world of work.
This guest lecture was interactive and received positive responses from the participants. The session was closed with an open discussion, where the speakers answered various questions from students and lecturers, reflecting the great interest in the topics discussed.
