Our IEEE ComSoc Indonesia Chapter Webinar Series continued with great success in Session 2 on October 19, 2024, featuring insightful presentations from two distinguished speakers. This session attracted a high level of engagement, with many questions from attendees and vibrant open discussions in the follow-up group conversations. Moderated by Tika Oltavia Ramadani from IEEE Student Branch Univeritas Islam Indonesia (UII).
Arif Hidayat, S.T., M.T., affiliated with BRIN and serving as an IEEE ComSoc Indonesia Chapter Officer, presented on the topic of Smart Farming IoT. He explored the transformative potential of the Internet of Things (IoT) in agriculture, illustrating how IoT technologies enable real-time monitoring and efficient resource management. This application of IoT in agriculture not only enhances productivity but also supports sustainable practices by optimizing the use of resources in the farming process.
Muhammad Nasrun, S.Si., M.T., from Telkom University Bandung and also an IEEE ComSoc Indonesia Chapter Officer, delivered insights into Comvis – Human Activity Recognition (HAR). He introduced participants to the concept of Human Activity Recognition through Computer Vision, discussing its versatile applications, from security systems to healthcare innovations. Nasrun explained how HAR systems can automatically recognize and analyze human activities, unlocking new possibilities for diverse sectors that can benefit from real-time activity analysis.
